Quick Tip of the day – Landscape Photography

If you have a boring sky without clouds for drama or much interest, minimize it in your composition to 1/3 to 1/4 of the total space. This is not the time to go all Big Sky in your image.

Here we have a clearly defined forground subject, adding  BIG Sky would have done nothing for the image.

However- yes there are always howevers – There are times we want to be playful with “Negative Space”

Here we use a large blank sky with a subject that is in the distance and we use it to show scale. A small prarie house out in the middle of nowhere

A great juxtaposition of filling in space and opening space. Love the prairie shot!
